Chief Executive Officer of A.G.R. Group Igor Shestopalov: “Large farm companies are the most efficient form of agribusiness today”

Technological and management innovations, global challenges and profit-making cases were the main topics discussed at the Large Farm Management (LFM) conference on efficient management of agricultural companies held this year. Chief Executive Officer Igor Shestopalov represented A.G.R. Group at this conference.

Igor Shestopalov shared impressions of the conference: “We, in A.G.R. Group, are constantly monitoring innovations and making carefully weighed decisions concerning those ones to be implemented in order to achieve efficiency of our business. Technologies enabling to control the field conditions in real time and to make timely agronomic decisions was of interest to us this time. However, the most exciting was a presentation given by Professor of University of California Richard Sexton “Agri-Food Supply Chain: Evolution and Performance in an Era of Conflicting Consumer and Societal Demands”. It is the insight into the agribusiness as an element of the global world, and it would be hard to overestimate the importance of this element.

The main conclusion I have made: large farm companies are the most efficient form of agribusiness in the circumstances of the permanent increase of the society demand for the food. It concerns both the volume and quality and safety of goods”.

Note: LFM conference is annually arranged by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB). More than 500 top manager and experts from 15 countries of the world took participation at the conference this year.
